Interim Financial Controller
Duration: 3-6 months flex
Pay rate: £400 LTD/Umbrella
Location: Crewe (2 days a week in office)
The Group Financial Controller will provide technical accounting oversight and control across the Group entities. This will include UK, Europe and the USA and other geographic areas as the organisation grows.
Accounting Oversight
- Oversee accounting practices across all group entities, ensuring accuracy of financial statements, and adherence to relevant accounting standards and internal controls.
- Ensure financial compliance for the company, evaluating and managing risk, including coordinating, and preparing processes for company to be audit ready.
Strategic Planning
- Work closely with the Commercial Finance analysts in strategic planning and budgeting processes.
- Support the business and all colleagues with financial change management projects to maximise the success of business growth.
- Scope out, implement and improve financial processes and controls for finance team to aid business operations.
- Define relevant KPI’s and measures of success for all Finance initiatives and processes.
- Optimise cashflow management and investment activities.
Financial Reporting
- Implement an effective control environment and maintain strong financial accounting records, analysing financial data, monitoring expenditure, and ensuring accurate financial statements throughout all group entities.
- Providing regular reports to the ELT.
- Month end process and embed changes across the company.
- Ensure that all statutory returns are accurate and made to the relevant. government body within required timescales.
- Develop and implement Group consolidation reporting process.
- Develop and report on key financial metrics to manage financial performance of the Group.
- Provide analysis and forecasts of Balance Sheet and Cashflow statements.
Leadership
- Line manage Finance Manager and wider Accounts team.
- Develop and train Accounts team and where required source training and development programs.
Finance Process, Policy & Procedures
- Review and document current accounting policies, processes and controls.
- Work with CFO to develop, implement and document new accounting policies, processes and controls in line with Group requirements.
Qualifications, Knowledge and skills:
- Fully qualified Accountant. ACCA, ACA qualifications (preferred).
- 5 years or more as a senior financial accountant/financial controller.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS.
- Consulting background (desirable).
- SME experience (c.£50m turnover) (desirable).
- Audit/compliance experience (desirable).
