Job Title: Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential

Salary: £31,200 – £32,400 per annum + additional £3,000–£6,000 per year for sleep-in shifts
Hours: Full-time, 39 hours per week
Driving Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence required

Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join a residential children's service in Buntingford. This role offers a chance to positively impact the lives of young people with emotional and behavioural needs by providing consistent, high-quality support in a therapeutic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to support staff to ensure consistent, child-focused care.
- Work collaboratively with the team and external professionals to meet the individual needs of each child.
- Act as a role model, promoting positive behaviour and emotional resilience among young people.
- Support children with their routines, education, and personal development.
- Assist with care planning, documentation, and safeguarding procedures.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where children can thrive.
- Contribute to staff training, development, and ongoing quality improvements within the home.
Requirements:
- Minimum 12 months' experience in the care or social care sector.
- A naturally caring, empathetic, and resilient personality.
- Ideally holds a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential due to the nature and location of the role.
