We are a nurturing and child-focused residential children’s home dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and structured environment for children and young people with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties (EBD). Our goal is to empower children to build resilience, achieve independence, and thrive.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our dynamic team. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality care and support, acting as a positive role model while overseeing daily operations and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and support to children and young people in line with their individual care plans.
  • Promote the emotional, physical, and social development of children through structured routines and activities.
  • Take the lead during shifts, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication with the team.
  • Support the management team in implementing care strategies, risk assessments, and safeguarding practices.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records and reports, including incident logs, keywork sessions, and daily progress.
  • Guide, support, and mentor support workers and new staff, encouraging continuous professional development.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, professionals, and external agencies.
  • Contribute to team meetings and work collaboratively to deliver high-quality outcomes for the children.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience working in a residential setting with children or young people.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or Children and Young People’s Workforce) – essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting and safeguarding children.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work on a rota, including weekends and sleep-ins.
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.
