We are currently recruiting for a Senior Pharmacist on a permanent full time basis, working in Republic of Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospital pharmacist looking to step into a senior clinical role with exposure to specialist services, leadership responsibilities, and service development.


Role Details

This role will support the delivery of safe, high quality clinical pharmacy services with patient safety as the highest priority.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering comprehensive clinical pharmacy services including prescription review, patient counselling, and clinical documentation
• Promoting professional best practice and upholding organisational values across all pharmacy services
• Supporting efficient dispensary operations including procurement, storage, dispensing, and supervision
• Maintaining accurate and legally compliant records across pharmacy activities
• Developing and supporting oncology and haematology pharmacy services including use of ARIA
• Supporting formulary management and the safe and cost effective introduction of new medicines
• Developing, reviewing, and implementing Standard Operating Procedures across pharmacy services
• Providing medicines information and supporting the development of clinical and patient resources
• Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise medicines management workflows
• Identifying, reporting, and supporting the resolution of medication incidents, risks, and service issues
• Auditing compliance with clinical standards and medication safety requirements
• Supporting drug budget management, reporting, and horizon scanning activity
• Participating in multidisciplinary meetings, governance committees, and working groups
• Acting as a senior pharmacy role model and supporting service development initiatives
• Coordinating pharmacy team activity and supporting training, mentoring, and performance
• Supervising and line managing staff where required and ensuring Human Resources compliance
• Contributing to audit, research, service improvement, and pharmacy transformation initiatives
• Maintaining ongoing Continuing Professional Development and supporting accreditation processes

This is a cross site onsite role requiring regular presence across both locations.

Requirements

• Qualified Pharmacist
• Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland or eligibility to register
• Right to Work in Ireland
• Two to three years post registration hospital pharmacy experience
• Strong clinical pharmacy experience within a hospital setting
• Experience within oncology or haematology services desirable but not essential
