Our client is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join ASAP on a 3-month contract, with a possibility of extension. The Payroll Specialist position is responsible for payroll processing for multiple entity Swiss entity payrolls. You’ll be the key point of contact for the payrolls they support.
The position works closely with Payroll Vendors to support processing of payroll, providing all appropriate payroll input, ensuring integrations are delivered and validating data before it is transferred to the vendor. You’ll be accountable for responding to queries from the payroll vendor and investigating any anomalies identified through auditing.
Responsibilities:
· Ensures payrolls are processed accurately, on time and in accordance with all federal, state, local and regulatory requirement.
· First point of contact for all payroll related matters, responds to complex employee payroll queries escalated from the Service Centre.
· Interprets policies and regulation regarding leaves, disability, allowances, one time payments, garnishments etc and works closely with payroll vendors to ensure they are applied through payroll and settled correctly.
· Identifies processes that can be revised in collaboration with the HR Operations Supervisor and with the Global Payroll Process Lead. Actively assists with process improvements within assigned payrolls.
· Assists in ensuring any regular finance, compliance and audit reporting as per agreed timescales. Assist with audits and reconcilliations of payroll data as required.
· Assists in conducting User Acceptance Testing and document results, ensure user guides are updated appropriately.
· Support the Head of Regional Payroll to ensure that it meets its compliance with all federal/state, and regulatory and collective bargaining requirements.
Requirements:
· Bachelor Business Administration or business professional training with several years of professional experience in payroll accounting
· 2 years of experience in Payroll with more than 1500 employees total.
· Exposure to tax law/social security law, employment law necessary and in the areas of audit and compliance would be a plus.
· Strong payroll management, stakeholder management and communication skills.
· Engagement, high level analytical and problem solving capability.
· Demonstrated ability to support complex HR/Payroll models.
· Independent work within own area of responsibility desired.
