Job Opportunity: Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Location: Ilford

Salary: £32,000 – £40,000 (depending on experience)

Full-time | Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our children’s residential home team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in residential childcare who is ready to support the Registered Manager in delivering high standards of care and helping young people reach their full potential.

About the role:

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home. You will provide leadership to the staff team, support in implementing care plans, and help create a positive and safe environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in achieving compliance with Ofsted standards and regulations
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise care staff
  • Ensure individualised care plans and risk assessments are followed and reviewed regularly
  • Assist in rota management, recruitment, and training
  • Act as the responsible person in the absence of the Registered Manager
  • Promote safeguarding and child protection throughout the service
  • Build positive relationships with children, staff, families, and external agencies

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards it
  • At least 2 years' experience in a senior or supervisory role within a children’s residential setting
  • Knowledge of Ofsted inspections and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)
