We are currently recruiting for a Basic Grade Pharmacist on a permanent full time basis in Waterford, Republic of Ireland.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for both experienced hospital pharmacists and newly qualified pharmacists seeking to transition into hospital pharmacy within a supportive and well structured environment.


Role Details

This role will support the delivery of safe, high quality clinical pharmacy services with patient care and medicines safety as the highest priority.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering clinical pharmacy services in line with professional standards and best practice
• Supporting medicines governance including Standard Operating Procedures, guidelines, stock shortages, antimicrobial stewardship, and medication safety
• Providing medicines information and contributing to multidisciplinary guideline development
• Supporting improvements to medicines management processes and patient outcomes
• Monitoring incidents, audit activity, Key Performance Indicators, drug usage, and budget information to support quality improvement
• Coordinating pharmacy service delivery to support effective teamwork across the Pharmacy service
• Supporting the training, supervision, and development of pharmacy staff
• Ensuring compliance with Human Resources, professional, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
• Working collaboratively with patients and multidisciplinary colleagues
• Maintaining legal, ethical, and professional pharmacy practice at all times

This is an onsite role within a busy hospital pharmacy environment.

Requirements

• Qualified Pharmacist
• Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland or eligibility to register
• Right to Work in Ireland
• Hospital pharmacy experience desirable but not essential
• Community pharmacy experience will be considered
• Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to patient safety
