We are currently recruiting for an Advanced Specialist Pharmacist Oncology and Haematology on a permanent full time basis in Waterford, Republic of Ireland.
This is a senior pharmacy leadership opportunity offering strategic and operational responsibility across oncology and haematology services, within a supportive organisation that values innovation, governance, and patient safety.
Role Details
This role provides senior leadership for pharmacy services with patient safety, quality, and best practice as the highest priority.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading and developing inpatient and specialist clinical pharmacy services including oncology, haematology, and Systemic Anti Cancer Therapy
• Acting as the Pharmacy lead for clinical systems, medicines information, formulary management, stock shortages, and compassionate use programmes
• Developing, reviewing, and maintaining medicines policies, Standard Operating Procedures, guidelines, and governance frameworks
• Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise medicines management workflows and improve patient outcomes
• Overseeing audit activity, incident reporting, quality improvement initiatives, and Pharmacy Key Performance Indicator reporting
• Managing drug usage reporting, supporting budget oversight, and identifying cost saving opportunities
• Driving innovation, service development, and pharmacy transformation initiatives
• Recruiting, leading, developing, and supporting Pharmacy staff including training, performance management, and wellbeing
• Ensuring compliance with professional, regulatory, Human Resources, and accreditation requirements
• Supporting research, audit, education, and continuous professional development across the Pharmacy service
• Deputising for the Chief Pharmacist and supporting senior pharmacy leadership where required
This is an onsite role with direct engagement across clinical and operational pharmacy services.

Requirements
• Three to five years post registration hospital pharmacy experience
• Extensive experience within oncology and haematology services
• Right to Work in Ireland
• Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland or eligibility to register
• Strong clinical knowledge within specialist cancer services
• Proven leadership and senior level hospital pharmacy experience
Experience in aseptic services is desirable but not essential.
